Jessica Klinkam
Community Ecology Research Fellow
Jessica Klinkam (Jecy) is a Community Ecology Research Fellow at PDE and a Ph.D. student in Biodiversity, Earth and Environmental Science at Drexel University. Her research focuses on estuarine ecology and restoration, with a particular interest in the interactions between submerged aquatic vegetation (SAV) and bivalves, which influence biodiversity and ecosystem function. At PDE, Jecy leads and coordinates living shoreline monitoring and SAV restoration activities, as well as the oyster shell recycling program. Jecy earned her B.S. in Biology with a minor in Marine Science from the College of William & Mary in 2022, where she conducted research at the Virginia Institute of Marine Science on SAV restoration and crustacean disease ecology. She lives in Philadelphia and enjoys yoga, pottery, and cats.
