City of Wilmington
Clean Waterways Wilmington Contest

The details

WHO’S ELIGIBLE:

The City of Wilmington’s Clean Waterways Wilmington art contest is open to all students in grades K-12 that attend public, private, charter, parochial, or are home schooled within the City of Wilmington. To see if your school is eligible, enter the address in this map and if it’s within the City’s green boundary line, you’re eligible!

Only one entry may be submitted per student. NEW this year is a coloring page division just for K-2 students!

THE THEME:

This year’s theme is “Restore our Earth.” What does restoring our Earth mean to you? Consider how humans have affected the planet over the thousands of years we’ve been living on it. What might the future look like if we reversed the damage? How might we use innovation and technology to do that? We want to see what you think!Consider topics such as species diversity, natural resource conservation, climate change, ecosystems, sustainable communities, environmental justice and more. The possibilities are endless.

THE PRIZES:

Three winning drawings are selected from three grade groups: 3-5, 6-8, and 9-12. The coloring contest is only open to the K-2 grade group and three winning entries will be selected. This means there are a total of 12 winners. All winners will receive a prize package consisting of a VISA gift card and art supplies.

Each category receives a nature drawing-related book, colored pencil set, and sketch pad. In addition, first place receives a $50 VISA gift card and second and third place winners receive a $25 VISA gift card.

First place winners will also have their work printed in a giant street sticker and applied to the streets of Wilmington to act as a visual reminder that we have the power to restore our Earth.

K-2 coloring division
